WHO I AM
My name is Daniel O'Connor and I am a marketing, SEO and advertising copywriter based in Crowborough, East Sussex, in the southern part of the UK.
I have over 20 years' experience of writing for some of the biggest organisations in the world. From NTT to Mitsubishi Electric, British Telecom to BUPA. I've also worked for freelance personal trainers, jewellery designers and eco-resort timeshare companies. So the chances are I can work with you, too.
I have spent many years living and working in both the UK and Japan (UK = friendlier office hours; Japan = food to die for).
What does that mean for you? It means that no matter what your current project involves, I've probably written for something similar in the past. I'm happy to be in a position to write great copy for clients large and small all over the globe.
With a background in languages -- BSc (Hons.) in Modern Languages (French and Japanese) from Aston University in the UK -- I know the importance of choosing the right words and putting them in their correct context.
I enjoy the challenge of taking something difficult and making it easy enough for a layperson to understand, which is why I've done a lot of technical copy in my career.
To me, getting raw materials that are incredibly complicated and writing about them in a way that can be understood by everyone is the same thing as looking at a page of Japanese and translating it into English. It's all about communication.
Corporate or lighthearted. Copy for tech geeks or copy for technophobes. B2B or B2C. I've done it all. And I can do it for you, too.
WHY YOU SHOULD USE ME
Why not do it yourself?
Well, why not? If you're good enough at English to read and understand this site, why not simply write your own copy and save yourself some money?
For the same reason I'd call a plumber if my wachine machine started to gush water all over the kitchen: all things considered, it's usually better to get a professional to handle things. Easier to get things right first time, and a lot less messy, too.
I'll try to give you an idea of what I'm doing when I write your copy. Let's look at the first column on this page. Guess what took the most time to do.
Writing it? Nope, not even close. Putting the words on the page was easy.

A lot more went into it -- I deliberately mixed "I have" and "I've", to give another example -- but that's just a quick insight. Are you prepared to put that much time and effort into analysing and rewriting your copy? Or maybe you'd prefer to save time, money and stress by just contacting me?
IN MY SPARE TIME...
When I'm not writing, you can find me walking my two beagles, training for marathons and trying to work out the location of the "Add Hair" button on Adobe Photoshop. The Photoshop experiment has met with little success so far, I'm afraid.
