MARKETING COPYWRITING: SATISFACTION GUARANTEEI believe I can give you what you need. I'm happy to put my keyboard where my mouth is, too. Don't like what I've done? Don't pay for it. Seriously. I won't charge you if you aren't happy with the work I do for you. Is there anyone else on your staff committed to returning their salary if you're not satisfied with their work? Thought not. All that said... It's a pretty safe bet as far as I'm concerned. |
ESTIMATE l estimate completion time for the project and multiply that by my hourly rate (minimum charge is two hours). Once we agree on a figure, I start writing. I will never add on hidden "extras" to a quotation. First draft of the piece. You can make any necessary revisions at this stage. If you don't like what I've written and don't think revisions are going to get what you want, let me know now. You don't use what I've written and don't owe me a penny. Final version. Additional revisions charged at my hourly rate.

COMPLETION At the end of the project I will invoice you and ask if you have been happy with our work together, and whether you have any suggestions or criticisms. With your permission, positive feedback may be used as a testimonial about your experience with me, which I will use for marketing purposes. I will also ask, where possible, for copies of finished materials to use for the "Portfolio" section of the site. |
CHARGING Invoices are payable within 30 days of completion of the project. I will retain copyright of the project until payment is complete. I reserve the right to charge additional "rush fees" of at least 25% of total project cost for jobs with deadlines of 48 hours or less, and at least 50% for jobs assigned on Thursday/Friday and due on Monday/Tuesday. I hope to be able to write for you again and again. Get in touch to ask me about improved rates for repeat clients. |
PITCH SITUATIONS I work from home for a reason: so that I can devote as much time as possible to writing the copy my clients need. That's why I don't get involved with competitive pitching - in other words, writing prospective copy for potential clients or visiting them for pre-contract "interviews" for free. If you'd like me to visit or write for you, I'd be happy to do so, but will charge for it. I don't employ sales support staff or spend on advertising. These cost savings are then passed on to you, the client. Better for me, better and more cost effective for you.
